Mission Statement
Sturgis Economic Development Corp's mission is to actively pursue economic development by assisting new or expanding business and industry in Sturgis and the Greater Meade County area, and to coordinate those efforts with community entities.
Our Goals
- Attract and relocate new business and industry
- Assist in the retention and growth of existing business and industry
- Enhance the positive business image of Sturgis and Meade County
- Support the coordination of county-wide education and training efforts for the preparation of the current and future workforce
- Enhance the community's competitive edge through SEDC's regional and national market efforts
Organization Structure
Sturgis Economic Development Corp is a non-profit 501(c)6 organization.
SEDC is supported and funded in large part by the city of Sturgis. Other funding sources include Meade County, membership dues, grants and volunteer contributions.
Memberships in the corporation are held on an annual calendar-year basis. Each membership holds one vote of business conducted at the annual meeting.
The main office is located in the Black Hills Special Services through a partnership with them.
Activities of the organization are governed by a 12 member, volunteer board of directors.
